FRIENDS ~ Lightning and Molly

THE BRIDGE

This bridge will only take you halfway there
To those mysterious lands you long to see:
Through gypsy camps and swirling Arab fairs
And moonlit woods where unicorns run free.
So come and walk awhile with me and share
The twisting trails and wondrous worlds I've known.
But this bridge will only take you halfway there ~
The last few steps you'll have to take alone.

So come and walk with me awhile.  They do not walk with us long enough,
it is never long enough.  Never long enough to share our world, to share all we
want to give them ~ to receive all they so unconditionally give to us.
And though we are by their side,
they take their final steps alone.
May they be peaceful steps.

ON THE OTHER PAW ~


 Oh, look there.  A turtle.  A nip nanner. A mousie tail ...
I think I should jump outta my basket.
I think I should bring those toys in the basket with me ...


On the other paw,
I think I'll just get under my blankie, nap a bit.
The toys will still be there when I wake up, right?

A BEAUTIFUL DAY

 ~ lovely, sunny, breezy blue sky Saturday ~ 
~ a short walk in the park across the street ~
a photo of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, the magnificent 
Victorian Gothic cathedral, built in 1872 that faces the park

it still surprises me when I turn onto a side street I've not walked before,
and find a treasure, here a lovely home, tucked back into a wild little garden,
it's bright door so welcoming

meanwhile, back at home, June enjoys her own breezy spring air by the window

~ enjoy this new day, may it be beautiful ~

CATURDAY ART ~ WINDOW WHISKERS


The original photo, above, was quite dramatic on its own with detail, sharpness and lighting.

For Caturday Art "One", below, we simply did a tight crop, 
used the smart sharpen tool to further enhance June's whiskers 
and the edges of her fur.
Also the background angles were slightly "straightened" as I tend to be bothered
when objects in the background appear off-kilter, 
and my attention is drawn there, rather than to the subject.  
The background was softened and
cleaned up with the blurring tool.  All tools from Adobe Creative Cloud.



Thinking it would be fun to go a little bit further, 
this same image became Caturday Art "Two", below.  
Now with an overall sepia filter and a tighter crop.
Then the outer image was blocked out as a solid sepia frame, "cut" into sections
with hairline rules and each section was applied with a different percentage
of tone (lighter) to alter the frame.
Whether this version came out better ~ or worse ~ or just different,
well, it's said that's in the eye of the beholder!
